What do we do?
When you have an issue in work with your employees, you take advice from an HR professional. They tell you what you need to do – investigate the matter, hold a disciplinary, grievance, appeal meeting, and so forth. All very good advice. But how do you investigate the issues, how do you hold a disciplinary or grievance meeting? What should you say? What mustn’t you say?
Now, by way of an example, you don’t pay your staff yourself, you get a payroll company to do it for you. So why hold an HR meeting with your staff? Get an expert to hold such important meetings, for everyone’s benefit!
We will come to your business, or wherever you want the meeting to be held, meet with the employee, hold the meeting which we audio-record (with their agreement) so you know what is said and discussed.
We obtain relevant documentation, ask if they have any other information they want to provide to us, or whether anyone else can assist us with our enquiries, and whether they have any questions they want to ask before we bring the meeting to a close.
We will then consider the oral and documentary evidence and make any further enquires as necessary.
We draft a report outlining the issues that led to the need for the meeting, refer to the evidence that was provided to us, we make findings based upon that evidence, and make recommendations for an outcome to the matter.
We send you the report so you can decide what outcome to make regarding the points raised. The outcome will always be your decision as we do not employ your staff and cannot make sanctions on behalf of your business.
All of this leaves you free to do other things, to run the business, to attend to other matters, or whatever you wish in the knowledge the matter is being dealt with by an expert in HR matters, in a professional, impartial manner.
By choosing an independent company to deal with the matter it shows your staff you are prepared to deal with such issues correctly, efficiently, and fairly. It also leads to a better work culture where staff can feel comfortable raising issues without having to explain themselves to the boss.
In our experience, staff feel more open to discussing issues with a stranger rather than with their manager or with HR, as they feel more relaxed. This leads to better efficiency in the workplace - there’s less absence, better output, and greater efficiency.
Give yourself and your staff the opportunity to feel like their concerns are being listened to and that you, as a fair employer, are dealing with those concerns on an impartial and independent basis for the benefit of everyone.
